What You Need:
- 1 Tablespoon Tamanu Oil
- 2 Tablespoons of Beeswax
- 3 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
- 3 Drops Argan Oil
- 2 Capsules Vitamin E
- 7-10 Drops Lavender Essential Oil
- 7-10 Drops Lemon Essential Oil
What To Do:
The first thing you want to do is get your double boiler ready on your stovetop. No double boiler? No problem. You can actually make one yourself with things you already have around your kitchen. A pot, and either a metal bowl or a smaller pot, one that would fit inside your first one.
Now you want to fill the bigger pot about ¼ full of water and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, bring it down to a simmer and simply fit your metal bowl into the bigger pot.
- Note: The metal bowl or smaller pot ideally should be floating on the water and not hitting the base.
Now that you have all that ready, you want to take your coconut oil and beeswax and melt them in your now makeshift double boiler (the ingredients go in the smaller bowl or pot). Melt and mix. When that’s done, remove from heat and let it cool for a good five to ten minutes.
You can move your soon to be tamanu healing balm into a glass jar. Mason jars are perfect for this. Then add all your other oils. Take your two vitamin E capsules, prick and squeeze the good stuff into the healing balm as well. Mix well. Cover. And refrigerate to harden.
The next day, you will have your very own Tamanu healing balm ready for use.
