Believe it or not, but this Bafta winning Brit already hit the Big 4-0. But for Thandie Newton, age is nothing but a number. After all, she does look years younger than she really is.
So, how does this mom of two do it? Thandie tells all, from her beauty routine to her stay fit scheme. Great tips right from her lips.
Basically, Thandie Newtons beauty routine goes something like this.
- Olay cleanser
- CC cream
- Eye cream that gives a very light emollient
"But for every day, please don’t cover up your face completely. Just let your skin shine through and just hit those little bits that can do with help"
Thandie Practices What Thandie Preaches
Thandie definitely practices what she preaches. Despite being the face of Olay, Olay is nothing new to Newton.
"When I was a little girl, my mother, who’s from Zimbabwe but has lived in England for a long time, had to deal with the change from the warm climate to the very cold coast of England, so would never wear makeup. We were working-class and didn’t have money for frivolous stuff, so the only thing she used to used was Oil of Olay, as it was called then. I just remember the little pink bottle up on the shelf of the bathroom. You watch your mom as you grow older, and that really became the symbol of the most glamorous woman. So I’ve used Olay for a long time and I was still using the original one when they got in touch with me."
"We can put stuff on our faces, but it's about working on your skin from every angle. Exercise is key. Until you are 30 you don't need to do any exercise, after that it's a different story."
"It's all about finding the right thing. For me, it's yoga. It leaves me full of joy and optimism. Yoga stretches out your body and releases lactic acid. I do it four times a week and my skin feels fantastic afterwards."
"When I'm doing a film I do it every day - I keep a yoga mat in my trailer. Sometimes I do it in front of the TV. The stretching makes me feel so good. It gets my heart going and helps me breathe deeply. For me, exercise isn't a punishing routine in the gym."
On Eating Right:
"You need a good, healthy diet - it's about finding out what your body needs. Sugar is a disaster for skin, as is white flour."

Oh, Olive Oil
"I've been through all the different phases of expensive creams in my life but there were times in my career when I couldn't afford expensive products."
"One of the best tips I have is to use olive oil as a body moisturiser. I also use it on the ends of my hair. If I'm making a salad and there's some leftover olive oil on my hands, I'll rub it on the ends of my hair the way I would a serum."
A Touch Of Tumeric
"I’ll use those moisturizers with a little color in them, then I’ll add a few drops of turmeric powder, which is naturally anti-inflammatory and gives a slight sun-kissed look."
