How Alcohol Ages You
“Moderation is the key of lasting enjoyment.”
― Hosea Ballou, Treatise on Atonement
Over doing it with alcohol can lead to all sorts of health issues.
Some health issues associated with drinking to much which ultimately age you include :
Wet Brain Syndrome - memory loss, inability to make new memories and even remembering things that never happened. Hallucinations, staggering and vision changes.
Hepatitis - inflammation and even destruction of the liver cells in advanced stages.
Juandice - yellow skin due to the livers inability to remove yellow pigment.
Edema - excess watery fluid that may collect in the tissues and cavities of the body.
Pancreatitis - acute inflammation of the pancreas.
Cardio Myopathy - weaker heart and weaker ability to pump blood around the body leading to ancillary problems.
Excessive drinking of alcohol can increase the risks of developing these sorts of diseases. It can also affect the skin, especially if it is compounded by smoking.
Conversely, a glass of red wine a day is thought to be a benefit to the health.
Ultimately, moderation and drinking the right type of alcohol is key when it comes to not aging skin prematurely and your health in general.
“Health is the natural condition. When sickness occurs, it is a sign that Nature has gone off course because of a physical or mental imbalance. The road to health for everyone is through moderation, harmony, and a 'sound mind in a sound body'.”
― Jostein Gaarder, Sophie's World
