Homemade Brightening Peel Off Mask
What You Need:
- ½ a cup of green tea
- ½ a lemon
- 1 teaspoon of honey, the darker the better
- 2 packets of gelatin, plain and unflavored
- 2 egg whites
- 1 vitamin E capsule
Why You Need It:
GREEN TEA: Great source of antioxidants, and you know what that means, ANTIOXIDANTS = ANTI AGING. Heck, instead of making just half a cup, make a whole pot. You won’t use it all for the mask, but while waiting for it to harden, sipping some of this green good stuff is definitely the perfect way to really relax.
LEMON: The vitamin C you get from the lemon is exactly what will give your skin that brightening boost. The citric acid acts as an exfoliant which is great for sloughing off the dull dead skin cells so that new ones can grow making it even more effective.
HONEY: Honey also adds to giving you that glow, but it also moisturizes your skin and tightens the pores at the same time.
GELATIN: This is what makes this mask the peel off kind.
EGG WHITES: Along with the gelatin, the egg whites will help get rid of white heads.
VITAMIN E CAPSULE: This is great to help get rid of acne, blemishes, and even help reduce the appearance of scars.
How To Make It:
Simply take your green tea and mix in the two packets of gelatin. Mix well. Squeeze the lemon juice on top (no seeds!). Add your honey as well. Cut the vitamin E capsule and mix in the gel. Put your mixture in the microwave for a good 20-25 seconds or until the gelatin is completely dissolved and the honey is well mixed.
Cool. You can let this sit in the fridge for about ten minutes. Remember, you don’t wanna cook your eggs. So add the egg whites last. Mix until you have a rather thick consistency.
How To Apply:
Starting with a clean face, (TIP: Hair tied back too or wrapped up in a towel!)
apply generously over your face. Thickly and evenly. You can use a makeup brush, but your fingers will do fine. Remember, if it isn’t thick enough, you may have problems peeling the it off afterwards.
Let the mask sit for about 3 minutes then add a second coat. You pretty much do the same thing.
Let is sit for 30 minutes. You should feel a tingling/tightening sensation on your skin. That means it’s working.
When it’s nice hard, peel the mask off.
If there are any part you can’t get, simply use a damp washcloth and gently rub on those areas.
