Here is a tasty seaweed smoothie recipe that isn’t green, and definitely isn’t gross. Let’s go ahead and dive right in.
Scrumptious Seaweed Smoothie
What You Will Need:
*this makes two servings
- Half A Sheet Of Dried Seaweed
- 2 Kiwis
- Half An Apple
- 1 Cup Of Cranberry Juice
- 1 Tablespoon Of Honey
- Half A Tablespoon Of Flax Seed
- A Pinch Of Salt
- 3-5 Ice Cubes
What To Do:
The night before you plan on concocting this healthy smoothie, you want to take your dried seaweed and soak it in water overnight to really soften it up and have it ready in the morning.
The next day, wash your fruits, peel the kiwi (apple skin is super healthy), and then cut them up. You don’t have to do any fine mincing, a few small chunks should do just fine.
That is pretty much all the preparation that needs to be done. After that, simply put all the ingredients in the blender or juicer than whiz away for about 1-2 minutes.
Pour down and drink up.
Why It’s Good For You:
Aside from all of the great anti aging and health benefits that seaweed has to offer, the other ingredients do much more than just mask that kelpy taste.
Kiwi is actually one of the leading sources of Vitamin C, which is an amazing antioxidant, meaning anti aging, of course, as well as Vitamin K. Kiwis are full of fiber, which means it is really good for your digestion, lowers cholesterol, and even helps the body get rid of toxins. This fruit also gives your body the potassium it needs to keep fluids and other minerals in your body in balance. Plus, because it is low in calories, it can definitely help you whittle your waistline and loose those extra pounds.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away- cliche yet none the less true. Because apples are full of antioxidants, they keep the age away too. Plus, the skin is actually really good for your skin. You see, it is rich in phenols, which pretty much give you extra protection from UV-B rays. Aside from that, apples are a really good source of fiber too.
Flax Seed is a good source of Omega 3, which is good for your skin as it can help clear up acne, get rid of eczema, and even fight off dryness. Omega 3 is also good for you brain as it has been proven to help prevent Alzheimer's and Dementia, and even depression too. Flax seed can also boost your immune system, ward off diseases, and even improve intestinal health.
