Golden Globe Nominee, Jane Fonda, 78 Years YOUNG!

Although Kate Winslet was the one who took home the Golden Globe for that, when it comes to staying young, healthy, fit, and fab, Jane Fonda definitely tops the list. All the aerobics definitely paid off. Jane Fonda is by far the youngest looking 78 year old there is around. That's right, 78. In fact, it's hard to believe that she's even pushing 80. She could easily pass off to be in her 50s. So, yes, there is a way to keep age at bay. The proof is in the Fonda pudding. So, how does she do it? What is the 'Fonda fountain of youth'? Well read on to find out her stay young secrets, which very evidently have been very successful.  

Jane Fonda's Stay Young Secrets:

"I’m often asked what “beauty secrets” I practice, what creams and lotions are best to buy in search for the perfect cosmetic formula for smooth, youthful skin. I think women are surprised when I respond that I have no special secrets – of that kind. It’s not that I haven’t tried virtually everything. But after many years, I have found no basis to advertising promises that we can have beautiful skin by using just the right skin care product."

"Of course, proper cleansing and moisturizing are essential, and some products are better than others. But for me, the truest, most reliable beauty potion is regular vigorous exercises combined with good nutrition. These are the most important things you can do for your skin. If your budget is limited, you’d do better to invest your money in a regular, sweaty, speed-up-your heartbeat exercise program than in a lot of expensive hormonal creams, masks, facials and the like, who’s effect will be at best temporary and superficial. Exercise, on the other hand, increases the circulation and brings a rich flow of nutrients and oxygen through the blood to the skin’s cells."

Exercise is a must, but do stick to the basics of any beauty routine: Cleanse, moisturize, and protect. Always, always slather on the sunscreen.

Jane Fonda believes, and is well proof, that continuous, strenuous exercise helps battle all problems that aging skin may face, such as wrinkles, sag, and basically loss of elasticity. She even claims, which science backs up, that athletes and dancers, have the most beautiful skin simply because they have more collagen due to their vigorous training. "During a workout, the skin’s temperature can rise from 86 to 90 degrees or more. This is thought to stimulate an increase in the production of collagen, which, together with other positive effects of exercise, thickens the skin – making it firmer, less wrinkled and better toned."

But aside from exercise, which is of course at the top of the list, here are a couple other tips that Jane Fonda swears are the secrets to staying young, which when you think about it, aren't really secrets at all. 1. Schedule downtime. 2. Exercise your brain. 3. Eat healthy. 4. Stay away from salt.
