[caption id="attachment_2772" align="alignleft" width="183"]DIY Skin Care Products For Men Guys need to take care of their skin too![/caption] A few decades back, it was often assumed that physical appearance and vanity was strictly a female concern. Men were judged on their character, what they did or what they had achieved than seemingly superficial things like wrinkles ! Well, times have changed...and in my opinion, for the good. Without going into the reasons for these changes, most men are now as keen as women to “look the part”. Looking after your skin isn't vain or superficial, it actually makes a lot of sense no matter if you are female or male. Consequently, there has been a growing interest in DIY skin care products for men. So with this in mind, here are some simple, easy to make skin care products for men. And as skin is skin, you will find these products are just as good for the lady or ladies in your life too.

Some Quick Tips

1. To reduce the size of skin pores and soften skin, beat together two egg whites. Add a teaspoon of lemon juice as you beat, and apply as a facial mask. Wait until the mask dries, then rinse well with warm water. 2. To help reduce body odors, add three to four tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to warm bath water and soak. 3. To soften lips and prevent them from cracking, rub them daily with Shea butter. 4. Rub olive oil onto hands before putting on work gloves to prevent calluses.
One hint that works for both men and women is to remember that sun is especially damaging to the skin. Good skin care should include a daily application of sunscreen. This will significantly slow the aging process.

Oatmeal and Onion Mask

You will find heaps of products in your kitchen that can be turned into skincare products...very common everyday products in fact. Two worth mentioning are oatmeal and onions. Oatmeal is a good facial scrub that helps clear clogged pores, while onions are an anti-inflammatory that can help heal acne scars. Leftover oats can be used with the acne-clearing recipe that combines onions, mineral water, and honey, if you want a thicker facial mask.

  1. Boil water and pour over oatmeal, letting the mixture soak for five minutes.

  3. To thicken mask, add some honey until the mask is thick enough to sit comfortably on your face.
  4. Apply nightly for three days then rest for two. You can repeat the cycle until you are satisfied with the results.
  5. The solution will stay fresh for one week in the refrigerator.

Natural Skin Whitening

Lemon and yogurt can help to remove acne scars and other skin blemishes. Apart from their natural whitening properties, lemon, and yogurt both have anti-bacterial elements, which, combined with honey, create a lingering and soothing treatment. And egg white protein boosts your skin's natural defenses against future wear and tear.

A Temporary Facelift

Signs of aging on the face are something that everyone likes to stop or remove. You can take years off your face at home without expensive treatments. Sure it won't last forever but every little helps. Here's a DIY skin care recipe for men that works like a temporary facelift.
  • Enough for approximately 10 applications.
