In the last post, we talked about how Marisa Tomei likes to start her day with a cup of warm lemon water. We even touched a bit on some of the benefits, but here we’re gonna go full coverage. So here it is, lemon water in the morning- how to make it and why to drink it.
How To Make Lemon Water:
What I absolutely love about this is that it is super easy, yet super effective. So, the first thing you do when you get up ea
ch morning is get a glass of purified water, lukewarm, get a fresh lemon and slice it in half. Squeeze half of it in the water and mix. Drink the whole glass before anything else.
- NOTE: Do not use cold water, it takes more energy for your body to process.
- Do not use bottled lemon juice, it can contain sulphites which some people are actually allergic to.
Top Reasons To Drink Lemon Water In The Morning:
Lemons, being high in vitamins and minerals, help loosen the toxins in your digestive tract. Lemon juice has been known to help treat indigestion by relieving some of it’s nasty symptoms, such as belching, bloating, and even heartburn.
Lemons are full of pectin fiber, and you know what they say about fiber- it keeps you fuller longer and fights off hunger cravings. Also, because lemon water is alkalizing, studies have actually shown that people who have a more alkaline diet get rid of unwanted pounds much faster than those who have an acidic one.
All of the antioxidants found in lemon water, such as Vitamin C, are great for your skin. As we always say, ANTIOXIDANTS = ANTI AGING. So this will help prevent and even reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. As for clearing up your skin, you have it’s alkaline nature to thank once more because it actually kills of certain types of bacteria that have been known to cause acne.
Despite popular belief, lemons, when inside the body, are actually not acidic. Once eaten, lemons are one of the most alkalizing foods there is. So drinking lemon water can actually help balance your pH by removing the acidity in your body.
Boosts Immune System
Lemon water is a great source of Vitamin C, which is an antioxidant, antibacterial, and as everyone knows, is amazing for your immune system giving it good boost. It is also a good source of Vitamin B, which helps produce energy, as well as calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium too.
Lemon water, as mentioned earlier, is a great way to rid your body of those nasty toxins as it simply flushes them right out. So along with better digestion and weight loss, you can add detox to the list as well.
